The Relaxation methods have been used by over 6000 birthing families in a Midwest hospital. After the tragedy of 9-11 four infants of military families died due to abuse. In the spring of 2002 Dr. Jenkins was commissioned to all military installations in Germany to present the Relaxation methods and other components of her Infant Touch Program, which is intended to give parents skills of coping and knowledge to decrease the propensity of child abuse and neglect. Twenty-two presentations were made to all physicians, nurses, and day care works, which included some parents of military families. Dr. Jenkins has presented Infant Touch research findings at International, national and local interest groups; and two research data-based manuscripts are being prepared for publication in scientific journals Through recognition by the above presentations, and published abstracts, Dr Jenkins has been selected as Visiting Scholar to Taiwan, fall 2006, where she will present the Relaxation Infant Touch Program and research data, to physicals and nurses who care for premature infants and their families. Dr. Jenkins has over 75 scientific published articles, book chapters, abstracts, CD computer assisted learning programs with workbooks, and audio CD/DVD wellness programs.

RELAXATION is a stress management and personalized method of coping with stress using both visual and auditory senses via DVD or VHS media. Originally designed for parents after the birth of their newest infant; the methods employed are consistent for use with all ages in a group or by individuals. The media may be used individually, as an in-house hospital/agency broadcast or for commercial broadcast program. The content is about 16 minutes and is conveyed in an educational “coaching concept” process. Participants are asked to use the method every day for one month, because it takes at least 28 days to create a new behavior, the behavior of stepping back and let the tension go; and relax before acting.
